![]() So you may find that by the end of March when the wind goes from Pranburi you will want to head down with them to Phuket, or whereever. Yeah, like Sammy says, they have several different locations, and just move when the wind dies in that spot. So if I were to learn here and get my kit here and ride out there they'd be un-interested just because I'm not forking out in there shop? I'm just keen to hook up with some people because I'm going out there alone for 3 -5 months so it'd be wicked and also I'll be a relative beginner.ĭon't worry I'm doing it I'm just sorting out the best way to go about it! As soon as we showed an interested in buying a kiteboard, they were all smiles. ![]() but i think thats like all kite schools world over unfortunately. if you werent buying gear, they werent bothered about talking to you. but i though some of the other guys were a bit disinterested and just wanting to sell gear. they have a kitesurf school here too if you want somethin a bit more metropolitan. or look in the rough guides or lonely planets. but im sure you can get lots of stuff online. pranburi a beach resort outside of hua hin. they'll have a kitezone and bar and shop type thing. They have 4 or 5 different locations and as the seasons change they move between each place. Yeah not keen on learning in harsh conditions I'll take thailand.also I like the sound of Thai Green Curry everyday. I'm banking on going from March until June or July depending on the Bank. There doesn't seem to be much info about the kuys who rune uld you fill me in a bit cheers? Also is it the kinda place I could spend like 3 months at just Kitesurfing, like is the scene good enough that I won't get bored, that's every aspect of life not just kitesurfing.so if I wanted to for example I could see some cool stuff not too far away? C2Sky is a good place to learn in Vietnam if that's where you wanna go. ![]() Not a forgiving beginners spot, but if you can learn to kite there you will find most subsequent conditions fairly undaunting. Good wind, but a lot choppier than Thailand. Will be out there next March myself for the Thailand leg of Kiteboard Tour Asia, so maybe see you out there. Agree that some of the local instructors (Pae particularly) struggled a little with his English when he first qualified (March 09), but am reliably informed that he has come on leaps and bounds since then.Īnyway, guy who runs etc is Willy Kerr, lovely Irish chap, e mail him with any Q's. ![]() The wind is much better here than in other spots in Thailand at this time of year. Pranburi is very chilled out and mellow - I was there Feb/March this year. If you can get away Feb/March I would recommend too. I don't trust KBA much, but that's just me having personal run ins with them. So would you reccommend it from scratch or not? Because if its a bit iffy I may save my moolah.get lessons here then go out there just to hone the skills? Also are your mates who went with Kiteboardingasia on here? I'm on a UK budget.but out there everything is so cheap so I don't reckon it'll be a problem. if you're on a budget, look at for CHEAP flights from stansted to bangkok via KL. it was windy and warm and definitely worth it. Other than that! learning in boardies is fantastic. The only issue i would say is that the instructors are mostly local boys and sometimes lack the english to really point out what you're doing wrong. thisisnatty had lessons with them and ended up paying a bit more than the water time she actually had so we were a bit put out.Īnd i have friends that have learnt with kiteboardingasia and said they were very good too. Lovely location, bar, shop community etc. Rode with these guys at their phuket outfit this summer. ![]()
